Expectation: I’m going to use this time off to get all those things done around the house that I have been putting off. I have a mental list and every day I will spend my time doing a few things and check them off my list.
Reality: This is my first day off from work so I’m going to take it easy and start on my list tomorrow.
Expectation: I’m checking my mental list and deciding on a couple items to accomplish.
Reality: I cleaned out the refrigerator, cleaned the stove and sinks. I did pretty good and this was just in the morning. Think I’ll reward myself by playing computer games all afternoon.
Expectation: Today I will mop the kitchen floor and check off another item.
Reality: I mopped the kitchen floor. Think I’ll reward myself by playing computer games all afternoon.
Expectation: I am going to organize my closet. I will also organize all of the bank statements and financial statements in chronological order. Go OCD!
Reality: Glad that is done. Think I’ll reward myself by playing computer games all afternoon.
Expectation: I am going to search through my cookbooks for some new recipes to make. I am going to make some fabulous dinners!
Reality: I don’t know what I cooked! It doesn’t look anything like the recipe picture!
Reality #2: Me: What do you want for dinner?
Hubby: I don’t care. What do you want?
Me: How about meatloaf?
Hubby: I don’t want meatloaf.
Me: Ok, how about chicken?
Hubby: I don’t want chicken……..make what you want to!
Expectation: I am going to go outside and clean up the flowerbeds.
Reality: Why the hell is it snowing in April??
Expectation: I will adhere to my schedule of only having a couple glasses of wine two evenings a week when I have my two days off.
Reality: I don’t have to work the next day or the next day or the next day……….
Reality #2: Stop doing that! All that sugar is making you fat!
Expectation: I will go outside and walk around the yard every day and maybe even walk down the road.
Reality: Why the hell is it raining??
Expectation: I can go shopping and take my time browsing, trying on clothes, carefully selecting a fashionable outfit.
Expectation: Hubby and I can have some bonding time and talk about all we want to do in the future.
Reality: Me: Tonight, are we watching a show on On Demand or
Hubby: I don’t care. What do you want to watch?
Expectation: I am going to finish reading the 3 books that I have been reading.
Reality: Guess I’ll start reading this new book.
Expectation: It’s week six already. I really need to accomplish all those things on my mental list.
Reality: Whatever happened to that list? I guess I’ll play computer games all afternoon.
